Dr. Marguerite Xenopoulos is a Professor in the Department of Biology at Trent University. She holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biology from Université du Québec à Montréal and a Ph.D. in Environmental Biology from the University of Alberta. Dr. Xenopoulos is a well-established ecosystem ecologist with expertise in carbon and nutrient biogeochemistry and the effects of human activities on ecosystem structure and function. As part of FloodNet, Xenopoulos will co-lead Theme 4: Risk Analysis of Physical, Socio-Economic, and Environmental Impacts of Floods. Specific to her research Xenopoulos will examine the effects of flooding on aquatic ecosystem condition such as water quality. Xenopoulos is also a member of FloodNet’s Research Management Committee.
