ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA, DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL, CHEMICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING
Dr. Elena Toth was born in Bologna (Italy), on September 21st, 1971. She earned a Degree in Environmental Engineering (summa cum laude) at the University of Bologna in 1996. In January 2000 she obtained her Ph.D. in Hydraulic Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan. 2002-2014: Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering. Since September 2014 she is Associate Professor at the University of Bologna, Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering.
President of the Hydrological Sciences Division of the European Geosciences Society (EGU, former EGS) and member of the scientific committees of the "Hydrological Forecasting" and "Hydroinformatics" EGU sub-division. Convener or co-convener of 25 sessions at the EGU/EGS General Assemblies from 2000 to 2015.
Editor of the international journal "Hydrology and Earth System Sciences" (HESS), since 2007.
Associate Editor of the international journal "Hydrological Sciences Journal", since 2013.
Member of the Advisory Board of the CDT (Centre for Doctoral Training) in Water Informatics: Science and Engineering (WISE) funded by the UK EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) and by the Universities of Exeter, Bath, Bristol and Cardiff.
