Dr. Andrew Binns holds B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University. He is Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Western Ontario. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University in 2012. Following a postdoctoral position at the University of Guelph in 2012, Dr. Binns joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Western in 2013. His research includes topics in the areas of water resources engineering, fluvial hydraulics in rivers and streams, hydrology, and hydrodynamic processes. Dr. Binns is working on FloodNet’s Project 1-5 (Spatial changes to flood prone areas in urban environments).
