DR. AARON BERG

Dr. Aaron Berg is a Canada Research Chair (Tier II) and Associate Professor in the Department of Geography.  Dr. Berg currently leads a research program that is broadly focused on the observation, modelling and analysis of soil moisture anomalies using hydrological models and satellite observations from several remote sensing platforms.  His research program is externally funded with grants from NSERC, the Canadian Space Agency, Canadian Foundation for Innovation, The Ontario Research fund, Environment Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.  Dr. Berg has had a very active teaching/research role in the Department of Geography which has included the instruction of several undergraduate courses (six unique courses), 20 undergraduate senior projects, and he has supervised over 25 graduate students at various levels (post-doctoral, Ph.D. and M.Sc.).  Dr. Berg’s service has included participation on both international and national review panels and he is an associate editor for an international journal.  His service to the University has included membership on several hiring committees, promotion and tenure committees, graduate and undergraduate affairs committees, University Senate and University Senate By-Laws and Membership committee.
