The 2016 FloodNet AGM is scheduled for 19-20 September 2016 at the Hilton Garden Inn - Vaughn/Toronto. The AGM is a critical component of FloodNet as it allows researchers and partners to interact face to face. Researchers will provide an overview of progress made over the past year and can answer respond to partners questions and feedback.
Please Register via Eventbrite or use the integregated registration form.
For planning purposes we ask that you register prior to 20 August 2016, although registration will remain until 2 September 2016.
A PDF OF THE SCHEDULE CAN BE FOUND HERE.
Last year we selected the Hilton Garden Inn because our workshop was timed back to back with the PFFWC at the same venue. Due to growth in PFFWC they have moved to a different venue (which is only 15 minutes away), however the two events are still back to back to accomodate partner travel plans. The FloodNet AGM is 19-20 September and PFFWC is 21-22 September.
We have made special arrangments for a block of rooms to be set aside at the hotel for FloodNet Partners at a preferred rate. The contact and booking information can be found on the Eventbrite registration page and will also be sent to you in your email confirmation once you have registered. This block of rooms will only be reserved until 26 August 2016 at 5:00pm EDT.
FloodNet will be hosting a FREE Networking Dinner on 19 Septebmer 2016, with a cash bar available. When you register please indicate if you will be attending this dinner.
All HQP are required to present at the AGM. When registering you will be asked to submit a title and abstract of your presentation. Your Project Leader will contact you afterwards to inform you if your presentation will be oral or a poster.
To facilitate the preparation of the scientific program we ask that ALL investigators and HQP respect the 20 August 2016 registration deadline.
When registering you will be asked your arrival date and departure date with some flexibility in dates. We generally expect all non-local individuals to arrive 18 September 2016 and depart after the AGM on 20 September 2016. Due to travel plans, flight times, etc. alternative arrangments can be made by contacting [email protected].
Please keep all original reciepts for meals, airline tickets, boarding passes, etc. to submit a claim to the FloodNet Admin Centre after the AGM. It is expected that you will pay due attention to selecting travel via the most economical means (i.e. carpooling where possible, etc.). This will keep the costs associated with the AGM down and allow us to allocate more funds to research.
For HQP who are informed they will be presenting using a poster can either bring a poster printed prior or are asked to submit one electronically to [email protected] by Wednesday September 7, 2016. This will allow the FloodNet Admin Centre to negogiate a preferred printing rate and your poster will be brought to the AGM. (Note please make arrangement to bring your poster home with you.) Files should be submitted as PDF documents and the file should be formatted as either a 4' x 3' or 3' x 4' PDF for printing. You can set these settings as page size in the software used to generate the poster and can verify them in the properties of the PDF file.
